Sell Vacant Land or a Lot in Dallas

Lots, acreage, infill, inherited dirt. Cash, no agent, no waiting for a builder to call.

Vacant land is the hardest property to sell the normal way. Agents don't love it, buyers need cash or specialty financing, and a lot can sit on the market for a year while the tax bill keeps coming.

We buy lots and land in Dallas and across Dallas County — city infill lots, leftover parcels from an estate, land with back taxes, and acreage on the edge of the metro.

What you should know

What makes a lot worth something

In the built-out parts of Dallas County, land is worth what a builder will pay to put a house on it, which depends on zoning, lot size, utilities at the street, and what new construction sells for nearby. In some Dallas neighborhoods a 1950s house is worth less than the lot under it — that's why we buy teardowns too.

Farther out, value follows road access, floodplain, utilities, and whether the parcel can be split. A landlocked parcel or one entirely in a FEMA flood zone is worth much less, and we'll tell you if that's what we find.

Common reasons people sell land to us

They inherited it and have never seen it. The taxes have gone unpaid and the county has filed suit. A builder made an offer years ago and never came back. They bought it to build on and life changed. Or it's simply a line on a tax bill they'd rather not have.

How we help

Give us the address or the parcel number and we'll do the research — zoning, floodplain, utilities, taxes owed, comparable sales — and make a written offer, usually without you needing to be there. Closing is through a title company; back taxes are paid from proceeds.

Vacant Land in Dallas

Dallas has more than half a million parcels and the widest spread of housing in the county — 1920s frame houses in South Dallas and Oak Cliff, 1950s and '60s brick ranches across Pleasant Grove, Casa View, and Lake Highlands, and newer infill everywhere builders can find a lot.

It's also the city with the most active code enforcement in the county, the most estate-titled houses, and the most tax suits. If your house is inside the Dallas city limits, the odds are good we've bought one on your street or the next one over.

Areas we buy in: Oak Cliff, Pleasant Grove, South Dallas, West Dallas, Lake Highlands, East Dallas, Red Bird, Casa View, Buckner Terrace.

ZIP codes: 75203, 75208, 75210, 75211, 75212, 75215, 75216, 75217, 75218, 75223, 75224, 75227, 75228, 75232, 75233, 75235, 75237, 75241, 75243.

Questions people ask us

I don't know exactly where the property is.

The parcel or account number from your tax bill is enough. We'll find it.

There are years of unpaid taxes on it.

Common with land. They're paid at closing from the sale price.

It's in a floodplain / has no road access. Is it worthless?

Not worthless, but worth less. We'll show you what we found and make an offer if the numbers work.

Can you buy a lot with an old house on it?

Yes. If the land is the value, we'll price it as land.

Who you're dealing with

I'm Mike Jackson. I'm a real estate investor based in Dallas, TX, and I buy houses across Dallas County, Texas — including Dallas. I'm not an agent and I'm not a national call center. When you call the number on this page, you're calling me.

I started doing this because I kept watching families lose money on houses they didn't want, to a process that wasn't built for them. A cash sale isn't right for everyone, and I'll tell you if it isn't right for you. When it is, I'll make it the easiest part of a hard situation.
